TPak was established in 2004 by Robert Thompson to supply
the Scottish egg industry with egg packaging and sundries. We are leading suppliers to the Scottish poultry industry.
From an initial start operting from a 900 sq ft warehouse in Forfar, Angus, we moved to a new 8,000 sq ft unit in 2010 to
meet the ever growing demand for our products and services.
TPak has linked up Dispak Limited of Melksham in Wiltshire
enabling the business to grow substantially. TPak supplies almost 90% of the product used on independent egg farms in Scotland.
We offer a very wide product range and hold large stocks of the main items to enable us to supply customers quickly.
Our pre-packs come from Hartman of Denmark and we soon developed a sound market for custom prints and labelled packs
in a wide range of colours.
Trays are supplied by CDL of France and our corrugated lines come from David S Mith
packaging of Livingston. All our suppliers have given us great support in building the TPak business to the size it is today.
Proud members of SEPRA, the Scottish Egg Producer Retailer's Association, all our corrugated outer cases and our
stock design pre-packs all carry the SEPRA theme of ‘Only the shell can tell.'
In 2009, Robert was joined
by his eldest son Andrew, who is instrumental in looking after the warehouse and organising deliveries with our fleet of vans.
TPak also offer a wide range of other poutlry farm products too including vitamins, clean-out materials and protective
clothing. We will shortly be publishing a product brochure.
Robert, a former Auchincruive student, was brought
up in Dumfriesshire on the family farm and hatchery and has more than 30 years experience with laying hens and is the third
generation to be involved. The family has been supplying day old chicks and growing pullets to eggs producers throughout Scotland
for more than 60 years.
When Andrew joined the T Pak team, Robert was able to take on additional roles within the
industry which now includes being part of the Harbro Poultry Team working alongside Douglas Steele and Chris Baxter developing
the poultry tonnage in Scotland from their three manufacturing sites north of the border.
Robert plays an active
part in the industry as is the local attendee at the NFU Poultry Group meeting and a campaigner for Scottish egg producers.
We have also just taken on the distribution of Sato labels for the whole of the UK egg market. Sato, based in Essex,
is one of the largest label manufacturers.
